SURVIVA JAK™ vs Foil Blanket
SURVIVA JAK'S long sleeves and hood cover more of the body's surface area than a foil blanket. The comparative thermal images below illustrate the heat loss when using a foil blanket compared to a Surviva Jak. Especially important in emergency situations when conserving heat is vital.
Between 7% and 55% of total body heat can be lost through the head. Heat loss though the head is controlled by cardiac (heart) output. The harder the body works, the more blood is circulated to the head, and the more quickly heat is radiated away, making it very important when doing physical activities like walking, to cover the head.
